After much hard work, we have released our promotion video explaining who we are, what we do, both locally and globally.
Check out our new video:
Monday, July 26th we met with the dedicated team from Transcona Museum, to assist in their fundraising efforts to SAVE 2747. Through fundraising efforts the club was able to donate $20,000 to the project of building a roofed structure to keep 2747 safe from the elements!!
A brief explanation of the significance: CN 2747 is an artifact of significant historical importance not only to the community of Transcona but to Canada. It was the first steam locomotive constructed at the Transcona Shops and the first built in Western Canada in April 1926. After 34 years of service, CN 2747 was retired and placed on permanent, outdoor display in 1960. For more information, visit https://www.transconamuseum.mb.ca/cn-2747-preservation-project
