Our June 26th meeting was full of excitement with speakers from our recent RYLA participant, followed by an introduction by Britney Wilson to CanU - a Winnipeg-based charitable organization that inspires hope and confidence in the leaders of tomorrow through its out-of-school mentorship and educational enrichment program for youth in Grades 5-12.

We then heard from Konadu Apea Bah, a CanU participant, describing how life-changing her time at HIP Y2Y was! It was through CanU that Konadu applied to participate in the Y2Y event. HIP stands for Honouring Indigenous Peoples and is one of the organizations our club is proud to support. Hearing the personal impact it has was a nice way to end the 2024/25 Rotary year!

To officially end the year, we welcomed our new co-presidents for the 2025/26 year, John Vis and Sandy MacDonald. We are looking forward to another exciting year! Thank you Jim Trann for your past service as president, giving us the time to get ready on the right foot!

We are slowing down for summer but not stopping

We will be slowing down to one "meeting" a month during the summer, the 4th Thursday in July and August at CanadInn, 826 Regent Ave W. There will be no agenda, just a social get-together, get to know your fellow rotarians for those who enjoy the social aspect of Rotary. We will take note of ideas that come up at these meetings, ideas of what we want to do throughout the year, but there will be no official business.

New Member Spotlight!

The Transcona Rotary Club is thrilled to welcome Danica to our growing community of changemakers! With a strong commitment to service and a passion for making a difference, Danica brings fresh energy and perspective to our club.

We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to seeing the impact she’ll make, both within Rotary and throughout the community.

Let’s give her a warm welcome!

A few members of our club stretched our legs for a worthy cause - Walk for L'Arche.

Since 2005, the Walk with L’Arche has been L’Arche Winnipeg’s largest annual fundraiser. All proceeds directly benefit core members with intellectual disabilities that live in L’Arche Winnipeg’s homes, funding the community programming, events, general operations, and transportation required to help each L’Arche Winnipeg community member flourish as their needs and dreams change.

This is a great local cause to support!

A great big thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our restart of the Cabin Fever dinner and auction! We were very pleased with all the participation and help!! As part of the evening, we inducted our latest members: Paul Ong, Patricia Dutchak, Jason Rajpoot, and Mark Reyes. Welcome aboard!

Transcona Rotary Club is proud to welcome Nick Guffei, General Manager of Vickar Nissan to our group! Nick brings years of service to the community, not just through his business contacts and dealings, but through charitable and volunteer work in his home community! Nick hopes to add awareness to the giving ways of Rotary!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas break! Our team is really starting to grow! This was our January 9th meeting at Vickar board room.

Christmas came early this year! We were able to donate again to the Salvation Army and Transcona Food Bank, as well inducting two new members! Welcome Sarah Mulder and Lucky Best!

Special thanks to Harbourfront Wealth Management for being our gold sponsor this year! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Our golf tournament was held on June 19 at Elmhurst Golf course. A lot of fun was had by all!

Congratulations to David Marsh, winner of half of the $1,340 jackpot! Thanks to everyone who contributed to renovation of the Scouts Hall!

On April 25, 2024 we welcomed two new members officially into our club - Corrine Shaw from CIBC and Jubilee Dueck Thiessen from L'Arche Winnipeg!

Congratulations and welcome to the Rotary family!
